Natural scenery 自然风景Hiking and trails 徒步越野
This is the hiking page in Lijiang. The path is steep, the drops are real, and weather changes the rock. Turn back if you do not like the exposure.
The name comes from a story about a tiger and a narrow place in the river. You do not need the story. You need the night’s bed and enough daylight.
Getting there
About two hours from Lijiang to Qiaotou by bus or a booked car. The high trail then takes one or two days toward Walnut Garden and beyond. A car can pick you up at a lower village if you arrange it. Do not plan to be back in Dayan for a show.
Staying nearby
A guesthouse on the trail, booked before you start, is the point. Sleeping in Lijiang means you are doing the viewpoint, not the hike. Tell someone which village you are walking to.
