Luoyi Old Town New buildings in an old manner, lanterns, and snacks. It is a cultural entertainment district. It is not tagged historic, because the fabric is largely new. Walk it once at night and do not let it replace Longmen.

The honest tag is cultural, and the honest adjective is rebuilt. Enjoy it as a night market with better roofs than average.

Central enough for a taxi or a short ride from most hotels. Evening, after a real sight.
Staying nearby
Possible, and noisy. Better as a walk from a central hotel than as the place you sleep before a grotto morning.

Free streets, paid shows
How to get in The streets are free. Shows, hanfu rentals, and some courtyards charge. A price said in advance is the only one to accept. It is pretty after dark and less convincing at noon.
