Getting there
Metro toward Muxuyuan, then the scenic shuttle or a taxi up the mountain. The stair from the gate to the hall is long. Build that into the slot.
Staying nearby
Sleep in the city, Xinjiekou or thereabouts. There is no good reason to stay on the mountain. You will want a shower and a duck, in that order.
