The modern tower is honest about being a reconstruction if you read the exhibits. Come for the lake from above, then leave.
Sunset is the crowded version. A bright morning shows the causeways better.
Getting there
South shore of the lake. A bus, a bike, or the end of a boat ride. Combine it with the water, not with Lingyin on a tight morning.
Staying nearby
No reason to sleep here. The south shore is pleasant for an hour. Keep the hotel on the east side with the metro.
