Water, reeds, and boardwalks. It is nature inside a city, managed and ticketed. It is not a hike, and it is not West Lake.
Natural scenery 自然风景
Walk the paths you were given. This is a protected wetland, not a picnic lawn. The boat is pleasant and not required.
Combine it with nothing on the east shore the same morning. The city is wider than the postcard.
Getting there
Metro to the Xixi stops on the west side of Hangzhou, then the park gate you reserved. It does not connect to the lake on foot.
Staying nearby
Sleep east of the lake or near a central metro stop. The wetland is a half day. The streets at the gate are not a base.
