Harbin
Harbin · 中央大街
Central Street A protected historic street that is also a place to eat. Walk it for the buildings. Buy a pastry if you want one. You do not need a guide or a reservation.
Historic sites 历史古迹
Historic street, still commercial. The tag is historic because the facades and the plan are the protected thing, not because every shop is old.
Winter footing is ice between the cobbles. Walk as if it is ice.
Getting there
Central, walkable, and the spine of a day with the cathedral.
Staying nearby
Sleep just off this street. On it, you share the night with the last bakery. Near it, you have the morning stones to yourself.
Back to Harbin
Free, just walk
How to get in No ticket. Shops and restaurants charge their own prices. Madier ice cream is a Harbin habit even in January. It is optional. The street runs toward the river. The flood monument at the end is the turnaround.
