Saint Sophia Cathedral

The city’s landmark church, no longer a parish. You pay a small ticket to go in. The square outside is free and is the photograph.

Historic architecture. The brick and the green dome are the sight in every season.

Give it half an hour inside and as long as you like in the square.

Getting there

A short walk from Central Street. This is the center. Do it with the street, not as a separate expedition.

Central Street. The cathedral is how you navigate. A hotel that faces the square is pretty and can be loud.
