The hiking tag is intentional. Even the cable-car day is a mountain walk along exposed paths. Shoes, water, and a layer are the minimum.
Cloud seas are a weather event, not a schedule. A clear rock is also the mountain.
Getting there
Bus from Tunxi to the gate you booked, then the cable car or the stair. The two main gates are not a short walk apart. Your hotel pickup must name the gate.
Staying nearby
Tangkou or the east-gate base the night before. On the summit if you hold a bed. The temperature drops. A cotton hotel robe is not a plan.
