Not inside Pingyao. A fortified merchant compound of many courtyards, worth a day if you want the grand version of the houses you have been sleeping among. Skip it if two days in the walled town is the whole trip.

Getting there
About an hour and a half by hired car from Pingyao. There are buses. A driver who waits is the simple version. Do not miss the last ride back because a courtyard looked like the exit.
Staying nearby
Return to Pingyao to sleep. The compound is a visit. Lingshi is not where you want to end the night unless the driver has become a problem.
