Albania · ordinary passport

Visa-free entry, generally under 30 days.

A short visit under a mutual agreement. Not residence, work, or study.

What the agreement covers

Ordinary passports have been covered since 18 March 2023. The Foreign Ministry’s note on these agreements says a stay is generally under 30 days, not an open residence. Work, study, and settling are outside it.

Carry the ordinary passport. If the document is temporary or an emergency issue, read the agreement before you rely on it. An officer can ask for the ticket and the hotel.

Fill the arrival card before you fly. It is free. A site that charges for it is not the official form.

The transit rule is the narrower door

Albania is also on the 240-hour visa-free transit list. A normal visit uses the entry rule above. Transit is for someone passing through China on the way to a third country or region, with a confirmed onward seat, at a designated port, inside that port’s permitted area. A return ticket home is not that onward seat. The NIA note of 20 August 2026 names the 65 ports.

If you need longer

A stay past the agreement, or a purpose it does not name, uses the visa application.

Checked 29 October 2026. The unilateral list, the transit note, and the mutual-exemption table are the sources. A newer notice wins. Check another country.
